Custom

Full Experience Description - High Bandwidth Users:
There is no standard user experience description as each event is customized to meet specific client objectives. The placement can consist of two initial ad units; 300x250 ad unit on the right side of the Yahoo! Homepage and a 497x100 responsive unit that resides in the middle of the page. If the execution includes a floating element, it will only be shown to the user on their first visit. All subsequent page views will be standard flash units without the floating component. A second experience is allowed upon click which can include a variety of interactive components such as video, games, photo gallery, etc.

Full Experience Description - Low Bandwidth Users:
The low bandwidth version of the of ad will be the same as the above but it will utilize the smaller file size.

Alternate Experience Description:
Static image will appear on every page view for users that do not meet the Minimum System Requirements. The advertiser's messaging must be consistent with the final flash frame. Creative must contain brand attributes.

Frequency Cap:
Full experience displays on first page view only

Minimum System Requirements:
Full experience served to A-grade* browsers. Browsers must have javascript enabled and meet the minimum flash player version requirements. Additionally the following specific conditions must apply:

  • Internet Explorer browsers on high bandwidth (LAN) connection.
  • All other A-grade browsers when maximum file size specs are met.

*A responsive ad means that the size of the ad will vary based on the user settings (just like the page itself).

File Size: 750K combined for high bandwidth, 100K combined for low bandwidth

Max Animation Time: See Floating

Flash Version: 10 (Action Script 3*)

*Source files must be provided when using AS3

Frame Rate: 24 fps

Bandwidth Detection:

Bandwidth detection will determine which version of an ad will be displayed to a user. A low bandwidth version must be supplied for any ad over low bandwidth max file size.

Other Notes:

Final frame must contain brand attributes. This unit can include multiple interactive components within the expanded unit; videos, games, etc.

Flash Creative may not use Local Shared Objects (Flash Cookies).

Flash: Floating

Staging Area: 972x600 pixels

Floating Element(s): Floating elements can cover up to 75% of the staging area for 6 seconds

Additional Animation: After the 6 seconds of floating element animation, animation may continue in the 300x250 for 9 seconds, for a total animation time of 15 seconds. If you'd like the floating elements to animate for the full 15 seconds the coverage in the staging area will need to be reduced to 40%. All floating elements must be continuously moving and cannot hover over content for longer than 3 seconds

File Size: 750K combined high bandwidth, 250K combined medium bandwidth, 100K combined low bandwidth

Max Animation Time: 15 seconds

This unit can include multiple interactive components within the expanded unit; videos, games, etc. The expanded experience must have a prominent close button. We recommend having an initial load of 100K to give the user a visual thus preventing the ad from appearing to be broken. After the initial 100K load, additional content can be loaded in up to 2 MB. We recommend loading in additional content in 100K chunks.
Flash: Subsequent

Dimensions: 300x250 with an optional 497x100 responsive ad

497x100 Responsive West Ad Unit

The 497x100 ad unit is a responsive ad. This means that the size of the ad will vary based on the user settings (just like the page itself). As the page widens, so will this ad – it will adjust according to the width of the page. This ad will have a minimum state (497x100) and a maximum state (636x100) with regards to its width. As a result of this feature, the messages and logo can go as far as the edges of the minimum state only. The maximum width size should (for the most part) just be color – including a design or pattern would cause images and copy to be cut-off and then it would not look good on the page.

Dimensions: Minimum State 497x100 (maximum state 636x100)

File Size: 750K combined for high bandwidth of all assets, 100k combined for low bandwidth

Max Animation Time: See Floating

Flash Version: 10 (Action Script 3*)

*Source files must be provided when using AS3

Frame Rate: 24 fps

Other Notes:

The final flash file that you provide us should be designed at the minimum state size (497x100) and your .fla files will be required in order for us to build out the responsive state of this ad unit.

Backup Image

Dimensions: 300x250 with optional 497x100 unit

File Size: 40K

Max Animation Time: None

Other Notes: Static gif or jpg only. This will be the back-up gif for users that cannot view flash. Must be consistent with the final flash frame and contain brand attributes.
